Bored Dogs are Waiting for Spring

by Domestik Goddess on February 29, 2008

Spring could come along just about any time now, if my dogs had anything to say about it.
(No argument here!)

I’m just saying.

Tell me about it! I wish spring was here now. Winter has been far too long here. I live in New Brunswick Canada and winters are pretty bad at times and this year lets just say I am sick of all the snow now. Enoughs Enough :) I just wish spring was here and summer to start doing all the gardening. It won’t be long but still a little longer. The dogs face says it all about how he feels about it.

Sincerely,

Jamie Boyle

Yeah, that’s how I feel too. ;)

While we wait for spring here in New Hampshire (USA), the blizzards come. We’re having what we call an “old-fashioned” winter. We’ve been spoiled by the lighter snows of the past few winters. Just dug out of 12 inches of snow Wed. morning. Now we expect another tonight and into tomorrow. It’s winter break for our schools here, so no worry about missing school. However, there have been 7 missed school days and a number of days with delayed openings. It’s been beautiful though.

@Mary Emma Allen. I hear you (up in Maine). Maybe beautiful, but way too beautiful for my plow guy at $35 a trip. :)

Jen, your furbabies are adorable. The greyhound certainly looks like I feel about spring. I really have to get a photo of mine sliding down our hill. And it’s not just sliding, if she doesn’t go fast enough she propels her way down. Then lies there making “snow dogs.”

What wise faces they have! We are just heading into Autumn today. The weather here is hot one day and cold the next, but nothing like the cold you have over there!

Love that photo…and that’s just how I feel about it all too!

We were teased here in Toronto with 10 degrees, however it’s already dropped and about to keep dropping. I think we’ll be sending snow and freezing rain your way in about 48-72 hours. My sincerest apologies.

What sweet, sad faces!

I’m totally feeling like that too.

See, I’ve been so “in the winter doldrums” I’ve been inexcusably slack about replying to all your very sweet comments – let’s fix that right now!

@Jamie Hypertufa, we must be practically neighbours!

@Claudia, me too… :S

@Mary Emma, “old fashioned” winter means the kind we used to have all the time, right? The snowbanks here are gigantic, like the way I remember it from childhood…

@Sue, I’d love to see your dog play in the snow – I think that would be as day-brightening a thing as one could hope for in late winter!

@Anne, I complain about winter but at least we’ve got spring to look forward to… while you in Aussie-land are watching your summer winding down: always a bit triste, Autumn, don’t you think?

@mee mOe, thanks!

@Nicole, bored doesn’t even begin to describe it! :D

@DrowseyMonkey, sometimes we need the animals to speak for us, eh?

@feefifito, sweet and sad, yes… of course, that describes a greyhound’s face even in times of contentment!

@karla, thanks, with another storm in the forecast, the blessings are welcome!

@HoundsGood, thank you – ah, but is there such a thing as a not-beautiful dog? (Love that blue-eyed white husky you’re showing today, by the way!)
