Do The Dom – Do Good

by Domestik Goddess on May 11, 2007

The Dom - custom laptop protection fabric sleeve Never mind what the name might suggest, The Dom is not a personal item you might pick up at a drugstore, but it is another kind of essential protection!

It’s a line of unique laptop sleeves that are custom-fitted to suit the measurements of your own particular model of laptop. Only a very limited number of Doms are created in each fabric design, so you and yours are sure to stand out in the crowd.

Best yet, you can pick up a little good karma along with this stylish protection for your precious laptop — 2 very special Dom designs have been created to help raise funds for worthy causes.

With the purchase of either, $5 is donated to charity: Choose from the Happiness Dom to raise funds for the Melanie Harris Memorial Trust or the Pink Dom to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (Australia).

The Melanie Harris trust is a rather unusual charity, formed to raise awareness of SADS — Sudden Adult Death Syndrome. (I must say, my own awareness has certainly been raised this week.) Melanie Harris’ life was cut short due to SADS, and the trust seeks “to help raise enough funds to cure this disease that has taken so many young mothers from their families.”

The Happiness Dom is made from a cotton fairy print fabric and lined with a quilted calico fabric, a lively upbeat combination that “embodies the spirit of Melanie Harris — full of life and enthusiasm.”
