Easy Rolled Sugar Cookies

by Domestik Goddess on April 4, 2006

Cookies don’t get more easy to make than this favourtie family recipe! These are very tasty if eaten plain, but this is also a great recipe when you’re looking for cookies to decorate for a special occasion — like Easter, maybe!

Easy Rolled Sugar Cookies

2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cup shortening
1 cup milk
7 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar

Cream sugar, eggs, vanilla, milk and shortening. Sift 2 cups of the flour with soda and cream of tartar. Stir well into cream mixture. Add rest of flour, 1 cup at a time, stirring well after each addition until dry ingredients are mixed in. Chill for 1 hour.

Roll out on a lightly floured board and cut into shapes.

Bake at 350 °F for 10 to 12 minutes.
