Decorating a bathroom in a neutral color scheme makes it easy and inexpensive to do a quick update. It can be as easy as changing your shower curtain!
Why not decorate a bathroom entirely in black and white? — classy and timeless, and you could change the whole look of the room every time you got bored, just for the cost of changing the colour of the towels, shower curtain, and soap!
Speaking of towels, eventually even the most frugal haufrau is forced to replace those “perfectly good” old linens that she swiped from Mom when she went off to college… right?
Recycling ideas for old towels abound, but I find that I just use them until they’re quite threadbare, then downgrade them to the mudroom, to dry the dogs’ paws when they come in out of the rain. Then, when they’re really worn out, those towels finish up life as rags out in the workshop and garage.
