We all love the convenience of shopping online, but still there’s that downside — no friendly second opinion. Online, who do you ask those important real-time questions, like, “Would this make my butt look like the business end of a cow?” or “Do you know if Dad already has one of those?”
To the rescue, Bunnybot.com!
It’s a brand new website — brand new, as in just launched today — that’s a mashup of chat and shopping and product reviews, delivered by a cute pink bunny mascot.
(That would be your Bunnybot, right there.)
Search products, browse categories, or chat ‘n’ shop with friends — your choice.
“Bunnybot unifies shopping and instant messaging into a seamless experience, making it easy to explore ideas with friends or family, get a second opinion, or just have fun browsing gifts or essential items together — just as a group of friends would, in a shopping mall,” said Bunnybot inventor and co-founder, Neill Kramer.
Shopping-wise, you get access to millions of products, “all of the products available on Amazon.com and its thousands of Marketplace partners,” with other popular retailers in the plans.
Ask the Bunnybot character to find you a Christmas gift for a dog (okay, that’s what I did) and you get an adorable sass-back: If I find what you’re looking for, do I get a hug? And that’s just the search function — type in a query and you get a swirling tag cloud of options to browse in the virtual storefront, as well as the cute bunny talk — but there’s also the option of chatting directly with the bunny bot (or, of course, with your IM-enabled human friends).
I’m not quote sure why you’d want to chat with a pink rabbit avatar in the middle of a shopping expedition, but perhaps its conversation gets more enthralling after a mid-shopping martini.
Try it out, see what you think, take the 2-minute survey about instant messaging and shopping online… maybe you’ll luck out with a $25 gift certificate.
