Midnight Sun Felt Tea Cozies

by Domestik Goddess on September 15, 2007

From the Gallery of the Midnight Sun, in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada, come these cute tea cozies in th shape of little Inuit people.

I like the comforting solidity of these little felt figures, and the way the fur-trimmed hood of the traditional Northern parka makes the handle at the top of the tea cosy.

Each is handsewn and embroidered, made by women of Holman, a remote Arctic community with a remarkable reputation for creativity and the graphic arts.
