Photo Booth Beauties

by Domestik Goddess on June 26, 2007

This stunning vintage bag makeover is no less than you’d expect from a serious student of art science. Yasmin Bochi, who lives in Belgium, is also a mad collector of all things historical from fashion and furniture to print ephemera… and her eclectic interests show in her work.

Once a rather dull navy blue bag, Yasmin’s handbag find was recycled into wearable art with shades of blue and gold paint. Distressed and faded images of real-life retro beauties were transferred onto cotton applique pieces and embellished with stitching and gold glitter, then then hot-glued onto the bag. A decorative sequined trim has been added to decorate the side edges, but the snap closure and metal handles are original hardware.

You can see more of Yasmin Bochi’s restyled mixed-media treasures at yasminbochi.com.
