Quick Avocado Dip

by Domestik Goddess on December 29, 2006

Hmm, what do we want to serve guests on New Year’s Eve? Ah, here’s a recipe that’s been popular in the past…

Quick Avocado Sauce or Dip

Mash 1 ripe avocado, and stir in 1 tsp lemon juice and ¼ salt.

Blend in ½ cup low-fat plain yogurt (unless you’re trying to gain weight, in which case you can use the same amount of sour cream!).

Sprinkle the top with ½ tsp finely grated lemon peel, if you have a fresh lemon on hand and want to go to the trouble.
See? It couldn’t be more quick and easy to make! We like to serve this sauce with beef flautas or tacos, if we’re hosting a full-blown (but casual) dinner; or we use it as a dip with salsa and tortilla chips, for nibbling while mingling at a stand-up party.
