Remember Your Dream for Your Life

by Domestik Goddess on March 23, 2007

We get tied up in the day-to-day race, sometimes, and it’s too easy to forget the big picture.

  • Where do you want to go?
  • Who would you like to be?
  • What are your dreams for your life?

Dreaminder is a website where you can write down your dreams and send them to yourself in the future. This way you can always remind yourself of your dreams. If you don’t know exactly what your dream is, there’s a Dream Wizard that can help you…

My favourite life coach, Thea Westra of Forward Steps, just turned me on to an online service called Dreaminder.

It’s a simple tool to help me keep on track with my goals, to keep hectic daily life from letting me lose sight of what I wanted to achieve.

Thea says,

I think it’s a fun, non-threatening way for people to engage with their promises to themselves.

She’s right. It’s fun and it’s non-threatening. I think it’s going to be useful for me, too. Even the act of trying to put a dream into words, to nail it down to specifics of what, how, when, does help to crystallize a vague yearning into a potentially achievable goal.

I’ve set up the Dreaminder to email me in one month’s time with a reminder of my goal — with a streak of ADD, I’ve found that short-term goals work best for me — but you can set up multiple dates in the system to get prodded a year from now, even several years down the road… whatever works for you.
