Safe Sleep for Babies in Need

by domestika on August 29, 2007

The children’s homewares company, Serena & Lily, invites you to participate in their Gently Loved™ trade-in program, in support of Project Safe Sleep — a campaign to supply cribs and bassinets for New York City’s newborns in need.

Babies are safest when they sleep by themselves, on their backs, and in a crib or bassinet. Unfortunately, many New York City families are unaware of safe sleeping techniques or are unable to afford the gear to provide the safest sleeping environment for their infants.

Through this program, you can donate your gently-used crib bumper to an infant in need, and receive a “thank you” gift certificate of $100 toward any purchase of the lovely children’s linens and homewares offered on Serena & Lily’s website.

With your help, Serena & Lily has pledged to make these cribs warm and safe and beautiful, by collecting your gently-used bumpers and by manufacturing new crib sheets using our fabric overruns and extras. By the end of 2007, Serena & Lily will have donated over 3,000 new crib sheets to Project Safe Sleep.

Project Safe Sleep is an intiative of Baby Buggy, a non-profit organization works to provide underprivileged New York City families with essential equipment, clothing, and products for their infants and young children.

Since 2001, Baby Buggy has delivered over 2 million essential items to thousands of families in need.
