Southwest Mission Prayer Table

southwestern mission reproduction console table Southwestern mission style is not my best-favourite design style, as a general rule — just a matter of personal taste — but there’s a Santos console table at Garnet Hill that I keep coming back to because it’s an accent piece of particular grace.

The graceful pine curves and olive-washed antique-look finish would work in a Northeastern porch or hallway just as beautifully in a rustic-decorated home in the American southwest.

You can’t tell from the picture, but this table — crafted in Mexico — is an authentic reproduction of a old-fashioned prayer table, originally made to hold the statue of a saint and with a slot in the top for dropping prayer cards into the small drawer on the front. Charming!
