The secret behind the sparkle in these cotton placemat sets? They’re fair-trade handcrafted in Vietnam from recycled candy wrappers!
Members of the Katu Tribe of Hue, Vietnam craft this placemat/napkin/napkin ring set using natural dyes and recycled products. Created in partnership with The Spiral Foundation a non-profit organization that funds humanitarian and medical aid projects in Asia.
The napkin, placemat and napkin ring sets come in a gentle white, this lovely rusty-orange colour, or a rather unusual light green. All would look incredible against a traditional beeswax-polished wooden table, or entirely modern on a shiny lacquered black. And you get to feel all warm-and-fuzzy good about it, too!

Candy wrappers! I love beautiful things made out of recycled things.
Those are beautiful – recycling at its best.
Great ideas. Those are so awesome and beautiful
I just wish that I knew what kind of candy wrappers would be best for recycling into arts and crafts projects.
