Spicy Honey BBQ Marinade

by Domestik Goddess on March 29, 2007

In spring our fancy lightly turns to thoughts of BBQ…

The “Too Good To Burn” maple syrup marinade has got to be one of my all-time favourite flavour treats for tenderizing meat, but here’s a sweet-and-spicy barbecue marinade recipe that comes in a very close second:

Spicy Honey BBQ Marinade

1/3 cup lemon juice
2 Tbsp low-salt soya sauce
2 Tbsp canola or safflower oil
2 Tbsp liquid honey
1 clove garlic, minced fine
2 tsp fresh ginger root, minced fine
1 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp tobasco (hot pepper) sauce

Mix all together and marinate 1 lb. pork or poultry for 4 hours or more, preferably overnight, in the refrigerator. Broil or barbecue, as you like it.
