Here’s something a little unusual, a delectable blend of sweet and savoury flavours that is exactly right for a supper on a chilly autumn evening:
Turkey Apple Casserole
2 Tbsp margarine
3 Tbsp onion, minced
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp curry powder
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 1/4 cups turkey broth
2 cups pineapple juice
2 cups soft bread crumbs
3 cups red apples, not peeled, diced
3 cups turkey, cooked and cubed
Saute the onions in margarine until soft but not browned. Stir in garlic powder, curry powder, brown sugar, turkey broth, and pineapple juice. Bring almost to the boiling point and add the remaining ingredients. Put this into a casserole dish. Sprinkle with buttered crumbs, if desired. Bake at 400 °F for 20 minutes.
This is my final recipe for this series — so if you’ve still got leftover turkey after all of this, you might want to think about buying a smaller bird next time!
This sounds SO GOOD! I think my family might actually go for this, picky eaters that they are, LOL! Thanks for sharing this recipe.
