They are excellent photos. That must have been a deluge! You have too much rain and we have not enough. Typical. Thank heavens for higher ground.

Wow, that's some major damage, Jen. I hope everyone is all right. I knew your area and northern Maine got hit pretty badly, but that's worse than I thought. Going to be needing some major road and home repairs there.

Good luck and stay dry. In other words, don't be crossing no flooded roads!

@beadinggem Hmm, yes, it's a bit damp... and getting around is a bit of a challenge right now. Our road *normally* continues on past that house with the dike built around it, and then turns left to follow the river downstream to town.

@Melanie, the grocery store I shop at is right on the river bank-- probably right *in* the river now, but we can't get within miles of it right now to find out. Just glad we laid in supplies before the spring freshet got so, er, ambitious -- and of course quite delighted to have a house up on high ground!

Wow, I'm speechless. That is just insane. No wonder it's hard to get to the grocery store!

This are great pictures - although things are not so great for those affected. The picture of the house completely surrounded by water is dramatic
