Yummy Mocha Yogourt Milkshake

by Domestik Goddess on May 30, 2007

Nothing I love better than a nice creamy cold beverage that makes you feel all virtuous just for drinking it!

Milkshakes definitely count, for the healthy dose of bone-building calcium — not those edible-oil-byproduct-laden things from the fast food outlets, mind you, but a yummy homemade mocha milkshake made with frozen yogourt.

Perfect for summer sipping on the patio… or brunch!

This recipe comes from my pal Sheila, who served up a batch of milkshakes to a group of hot tired neighbours after last weekend’s big community yard sale, bless her little heart! Can you say “yummy”?

Mocha Yogourt Milkshake

½ cup strong coffee
2 Tbsp honey
1 cup milk
4 cups frozen yogourt, chocolate flavour
2 oz. coffee-flavoured liqueur (optional)

Process all ingredients in a blender until smooth, and pour into tall chilled glasses. Serves 4.

If you want to be fancy, you can garnish the drinks with curls of chocolate shaved from a room-temperature chocolate bar.

Watching your weight? Mix up a diet version of this milkshake by substituting low-fat frozen yogourt and skim milk, and just leave out the liqueur and chocolate garnish.

As the guy that does ALL the cooking in our house I know my wife is going to love this foo-foo drink. She loves those “vanilla caramel double chocolate mocha latta iced coffee” drinks so I know she will be all over this.
